Prerequisites
Prepare account access, host permissions, and network access before you install the Bitaic CLI or configure public managed checks. Private-beta product agents use enrollment-specific prerequisites until Q1 2027 public-release planning.
Account Access
- Use a Bitaic workspace account with permission to configure the products, agents, checks, and integrations you plan to manage.
- Use Viewer access for read-only status and metric checks, Operator access for monitoring targets, agents, checks, and alerts, and Admin or API-access permissions for service tokens, webhooks, integrations, user or role administration, and audit-log export.
- Keep CLI credentials out of committed scripts, repositories, and shared configuration files.
- Use OS credential storage for interactive CLI login when available, and use protected runtime variables such as
BITAIC_TOKENandBITAIC_WORKSPACEfor automation.
Host Requirements
- Confirm the host operating system is supported for the CLI, the product agent, or both.
- Allow outbound HTTPS access to Bitaic API, ingestion, and Downloads endpoints.
- Use an account with permission to install software into the selected system or user-level install directory when installing the CLI.
- Python is not required for the Bitaic CLI installation or normal CLI use.
